Global economic uncertainty continued during FY2011 and we experienced the devastating natural disaster of the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan. We were thankful that our colleagues within the OYC group recovered safely and deeply appreciative of their dedicated efforts to support the raw material needs of the overseas customers; despite facing many local challenges during the earthquake recovery period. Through this difficult period of early 2011, OYC Americas continued our commitment for regional expansion and new business development. We made further strides into South America by opening up supply chains into Brazil and expanded our U.S. West Coast operations. Our staff made great effort during the year to establish our first branch office located in Vista, CA. The growth of this region greatly contributed to our success in 2011 and helped us achieve our financial goals. To begin the New Year, OYC Americas will officially announce the Vista, CA branch office with a planned opening office ceremony within 1Q’12. The new office will be equipped to support the needs of our Bio Division customers with greater warehouse capacity, temperature controlled refrigerated storage, and enhanced operational systems to improve supply chain management. With the combined efforts of the entire OYC Group, we are confident that OYC Americas will continue to achieve its objective of supplying unique raw material solutions to the industries we serve.
