Step Forward to Cure Tuberous Sclerosis

Odiorne State Park, Rye, NH. Ted Kottcamp, President of OYC Americas, with family & friends, participated in a walk to raise funds and awareness for Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC).  "Step Forward to Cure Tuberous Sclerosis" supports the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance and helps individuals who suffer from this genetic disorder.  TSC is a disorder that causes the formation of tumors on vital organs such as the brain, heart, kidneys, lungs, skin, and eyes.

Walk for Hunger: May 2009

The Walk for Hunger is a rite of spring in Boston, Massachusetts. The Walk for Hunger is the oldest continual pledge walk in the country and one of the few walks dedicated to social justice. On the first Sunday in May people from all corners of Massachusetts come together to help their neighbors in need. This year, the OYC Americas team was proud to walk to eliminate hunger. We had a team of 15 walkers, young and old, and as we started out bright and early on the 20 mile walk we were rewarded with a beautiful spring day. The beautiful weather contributed to a record turnout and 44,000 people raised $3.8 million to stamp out hunger!

Food Donation: December 2008

The OYC Americas team was hard at work shopping for and delivering food to the Merrimack Valley Food Bank. We donated over 200 pounds of food to the food bank, working with the community to continue to fight hunger in the Merrimack Valley.

AIDS Caregiver Kit Donation: December 2008
Community Service Events

The OYC Americas team assembled and shipped 50 AIDS caregiver kits to Africa for World Aids Day. These kits equip volunteers in Africa who are caring for those living with AIDS.
