Walk for Hunger: May 2009

The Walk for Hunger is a rite of spring in Boston, Massachusetts. The Walk for Hunger is the oldest continual pledge walk in the country and one of the few walks dedicated to social justice. On the first Sunday in May people from all corners of Massachusetts come together to help their neighbors in need. This year, the OYC Americas team was proud to walk to eliminate hunger. We had a team of 15 walkers, young and old, and as we started out bright and early on the 20 mile walk we were rewarded with a beautiful spring day. The beautiful weather contributed to a record turnout and 44,000 people raised $3.8 million to stamp out hunger!
